Girlfriend is the opening act of this large venue tour, and it's her first tour. We spoke a lot about being intentional with your thoughts and how crucial it is to compartmentalize this tour and everything that comes with it, and I feel like I could see that in her set.
Her performance felt like a crescendo of authenticity and comfort. She came out a little gun shy, but Minnesota tends to be a welcoming crowd and they definitely were last night. Her final song requested the audience to hold flashlights up and I love moments like these because I think getting the crowd involved takes away from the isolated "performance" feeling.
Her vocals were great, she presents very professionally while still finding time to be human. Looking forward to seeing her career grow.
AMA had a really fun set. Each song felt very intentionally written and performed, felt authentic vs routine. Passion in facial expressions, body language and movement.
You have to give opening artists props when they make the most of a crowd that "isn't theirs." Her set list did a great job at highlighting her range as an artist, she isn't pidgeonholed into one style.
Overall, I think AMA was a great addition to this tour lineup and I was impressed by her performance.
